Specifically, Emily Carr University is famous for its art history course and focus on critique education. Professors help students make original and creative works. The most important education focus is critique in the university. Theory education and critical ability is as important as practical technique. The whole student body must take the Critics class. Critics class is a discussion and presentation class. The students open their works to class mates and professors, and they are evaluated by them. Through this class, they are trained how to get objective point of view themselves. The school scale is small, therefore, students can debate with professors about their works freely. Also, the class scale is small, so, usually they have many opportunities for discussion.

Tin Wall, Wearing Designed Dresses

Granville Island is a well-known treasure located under the Granville Street Bridge in Vancouver. Half of the visitors to Granville Island are Vancouverites and the others are tourists from other cities and countries. There is a university named for Emily Carr who is a loved Canadian artist, and there are large varieties of arts studios such as art glass, beads, carving, drawing, and pictures. Peter Jackson, who is a carver, has a studio in Granville Island and said, “I think, working in Granville Island is good luck, I can make a work of art and sell without a hardhearted gallery. The most joyful thing is talking with foreigners.”

However, there is a strange thing on Granville Island as an art culture space. Usually, people think that the art culture spaces are lined with art galleries, museums, theaters which are built by modern sense. Unexpectedly, the buildings in Granville Island are not modern. Their art galleries, souvenir shop, markets, coffee shop, restaurants have warehouse form and even the university.

Granville Island is filled with markets and art shops, but Granville Island was filled with warehouses and factories until the 1950s. The Federal Government made progress a development project in1970s, called The Granville Island Concept. Accordingly, theaters, restaurants, art shops, community centers started stood in the place that was a factory. The old factories and warehouses have been transformed into a stylish development of warehouse with a contemporary feel. The exterior of the buildings are still simple and rough, however, the buildings’ outer wall has own character. The buildings are painted by yellow, pink, green, and blue or putted in a small flowerpot at the windows. The buildings in Granville Island are not ware houses or factories anymore, the buildings are designed artistically. Granville Island was revived a new space escape a factory area.

The most famous remodeled warehouse for visitors is the Public Market. The Public Market was built with a red and white tin which looked like obviously a warehouse. Street artists perform in front of the entrance decorated with flowers- there is a flower shop, at the entrance- every weekend. The public market sells around six-thousand salmon, six hundred gallon soup per week. The Public Market became a tourist attraction to foreign visitors as sold fresh
vegetables and fruit, fishes.

Also, the Starbucks coffee shop was built by tin. The Starbucks is located the entrance of Granville Island, near the bus stop. The external appearance is totally different we’ve seen. The Starbucks coffee shop doesn’t have a fixed form. The building represents freely styles in Granville Island.

Factories have been changed to a public space that is loved by everyone. That is thanks to cooperation of the federal government and citizens. The buildings must be permitted from the federal government before built in Granville Island. That is to maintain individuality in Granville Island buildings, and this effort is made artistic warehouses in Granville Island.

H&M

The Hottest Mate - H&M

Outmoded people often say that winter is better than summer. They necessitate just one parka like an Eskimo’s one with UGGs in the winter. However, the summer is absolutely distinct. Even though you are an unfashionable person, your feet want to escape from running shoes sauna, your golden hair is concerned about burning to from the blaze of noon, and you can’t open your eyes flawlessly. Do you feel hot already? If that’s true, I’ll give you cool solution. We have many must have summer items such as a flip flop which has Indian decoration, half of face size sunglasses, new T-shirts instead of worn out last year’s, and shorts. You probably think that if you buy all things, you can’t buy an ordinary parka like an Eskimo’s one in this winter. Everyone thinks so before visiting there, but you probably want more time in there for the reason that you can pay money for all must have items in H&M without concern of dough.

H&M store in Vancouver is located downtown. The ceiling was decorated with simple lights like a stage lightening in the store. However, they use white lamp, so H&M store’s tone is certainly brighter than stage. Thanks to white lamp, the mood is vivid and full of prune. When you enter the store, you feel tired because the store has many gears throughout inside of the huge store. Also, you might think that where do I start hunting? Think that it’s a round trip, if you come back the start spot, not only you’ll see everything but also you might not confuse. Don’t worry, you can’t get lost in the store. Take your time!

The categories are divided by gender and age in H&M. They have ladies trend clothes, accessories, and lingerie parts on the first floor.

In the Accessories section, there are many kinds of bags from a purse to big size shoulder bags like a hulled grain burlap bag. The price is variety (From $7 to 59.90), and the quality of the material is also multiplicity. You can find tiger pattern, enameled leather, and normal brown leather etc. This section also has hair pins, necklaces, bracelets, belts, scarf, headgear, flip flops, sunglasses earrings, and high heels. Women shoes are usually too high, at least over 10cm! If you have any handicap your height, there are many choices for you. But be careful! If you fall down your towering heels, you might have another handicap.

Woman’s suits are displayed crossways the accessories part. It’s not perfectly suits, just semi formal clothing for worker women. All clothes are black, white or sometimes ivory, and silk is common material in this section. Besides, this section has several shoes match with suit. If you are looking for stereotyped clothes of worker woman or you are black clothes holic, you’ll unearth suitable style without doubt.

Next to suit section, there is swim wear and under wear section. A colorful or flower pattern swim wears are exhibited includes flip flops for beach, sunglasses, and hat for beach.

Pass through the counter, there are lots of sale items. Pattern one pieces dress’s prices are usually $20 to $60, pants and skirts are $15 to $20, and cardigan is 29.90. My friends bought the same cardigans a few weeks ago. It’s on buy one get one sale. She bought the cardigan $24.90 add one free cardigan. You have to carefully ransack sale items. If the items were on sale, you shouldn’t hesitate because sale items are sold out in the twinkling of an eye. A few weeks ago I went to the store, and I come across a bag which is made with straw for summer. At that time, I didn’t buy so that thinking about more that it’s necessary for me. I went again, when I decide to buy the bag. That’s just three days later, but the bag has gone to the others hands. If the items which you want are not on sale, DON’T BUY. Just wait the discount price. A few days later, you will be jaw-dropping on account of the marked down price on the sale tags. Anyway, now H&M has big sales. The staffs are very busy to attach the red sale tag which written $7, $12, and $20.

Let’s go upstairs by escalator. The second floor is divided men, guys, girls, denim, kids (0-14+yrs). Each section has sunglasses, flip flops, underwear, swim wears, accessories, hats, and bags. I surprised because there are ample range of kids and children section I’ve never seen. You can go there with your child, nephew, or to choose a present for your friend’s baby.

Girl’s part which is on the second floor is filled with print t- shirts, pants, skirts, one piece dresses, denim, shoes, and accessories. It’s more causal style than first floor. Compare with the first floor the accessories part such as necklaces, earrings, fingerings is smaller, and flip flops' portion is more important. You might feel something lacking because there are no chairs for customer who wants to try on shoes. The mood is different from the first floor. The ceiling lamps are not white lamps. It’s darker than first floor’s overhead lights. The first floor concept is white and simple, but the second floor girl’s part concept is colorful and youthfulness likes unrecognizable hip-pop rap.

The store has three fitting rooms. First one is on the first floor, second one is on the second floor at girl’s part, and last one is between men’s part and kid’s part. In front of fitting room, there is always long line even on weekdays. If you don’t like long waiting to try on, you’d better to go there at A.M when they open the doors. You’ll revel in shopping peacefully only in the morning. After lunch time, the line will be similar to a free coffee sample party. Also, the shelves are clean and arranged in the morning. In the afternoon, usually the store is too messy owing to people dig up all shelves to find some clothes.

They have three counters as well. The first floor counter is hectic until the end of time. Do you have short temper? Or, do you want go back home quickly to hold your own fashion show in front of the whole body mirror? Go to upstairs, you can use both kid’s section counter and men’s shop section. Kid’s section is calm at all times. When the music stops to change another song, you might be cold due to desolate atmosphere.

H&M open to everyone who is husband and wife, students, mother who has a baby, a mom who want shopping with her daughter, guys, and of course young women. Whoever can be your shopping mate in H&M.
